I live in the countryside of Cheshire with my partner and an ever increasing number of four legged friends. Animals have always been a big part of my life and with horses, chickens, dogs and cats and a full time job as a paramedic there never seem to be a dull moment in our house!

The ragdoll became part of a love affair back in 2003 when we bought our first fluffy kitten and it has grown on from there. We have been breeding under the prefix Ragtasia now for around 5 years and are very passionate about the breed. Breeding to maintain the Type, Health and Temperament of the Ragdoll in all Patterns and Colours, with special interest in preserving the 100% pure English lines, the Traditional Ragdoll and the Red Series.  2009 takes us into an exciting new opportunity where we are helping with the re-introduction of the Chocolate and Lilac colour back into the Ragdoll following the Strict out cross programme of the UK.

It is an absolute honour to be Chairman of this fantastic forward thinking breed club and I know this club will be able to support its members and take the Ragdoll strong into the future. Please feel free to come and introduce yourself and have a Raggie chat if you see me at the many shows we go to showing our cats .

Heather McConaghie

Hello everyone. Welcome to the UKRBS website. My name is Heather McConaghie and I live in N. Ireland with my husband Steven, our four children and my mum. They all support me in my love of ragdolls and allow me to abandon them and travel to England for meetings and shows etc. For that I am very grateful.
I saw my first ragdoll on Blue Peter in the 1980s, shortly after they arrived in the UK and decided that one day I would have one. However it was not until more than 20 years later, when I gave up work to look after my mum, that I was able to get my first one. Now little over a year later I have 5.
Although I am very new to breeding, what I lack in experience I make up for in enthusiasm. My prefix RIADARAGS is named after the kingdom of Dal Riada which stretched from the west coast of Scotland to Co.Antrim in N. Ireland during the 6th century.
As far as I aware I am the only breeder of ragdolls in N. Ireland, the only other one having recently retired. My aim is to raise healthy, happy kittens with that typical laid back temperament we all know and love. I also hope to promote the ragdoll breed in N. Ireland where, compared to the mainland it is relatively unknown.
Besides my family and my cats my other interests, time permitting are gardening, reading and cross-stitch.
