REGISTERED BREEDERS CRITERIA
The UKRBS is willing to help, support and encourage any person who wants to breed Ragdolls
but has certain criteria that has to be fulfilled to ensure that everyone is aware of the commitment that
it takes to breed correctly and most of all responsibly.
To become a Full Registered Breeder with the United Kingdom Ragdoll Breeder Society you need to be fully aware that you will be expected to:-
Attend or have attended two full day teach-in/seminars with the UKRBS or any other recognised GCCF Affiliated Ragdoll Breed Club, and to have raised a litter of Ragdoll Kittens. (Documentation evidence of attendance to be forwarded with your application).
Members can apply to become a probationary breeder after attending or having attended one full day teach-in/seminar, but will remain as a probationary breeder until the above criteria has been met.
Agree that your cats are well cared for and that kittens are bred and raised in accordance with GCCF guidelines.
Agree that all kittens that leave your care will be in excellent health when leaving your household, to the best of your knowledge they will be free from disease and parasites.
Agree to provide a minimum of a 4 generation pedigree, registration document, and vaccination cards with every kitten sold in accordance with GCCF rules 10a & 10b.
Agree to abide by the code of ethics of the United Kingdom Ragdoll Breeders Society.
Agree to have an experienced UKRBS breeder as a mentor if you have raised less than two Ragdoll litters.
We highly recommend that all your breeding lines are DNA tested for HCM and the cats Micro chipped. (We ask that you provide the United Kingdom Ragdoll Breeders Society with documentation evidence of this) As the UKRBS is committed to the future health & welfare of the Ragdoll any kittens sold for breeding should test negative for the HCM gene.
Agree not to sell a stud boy to a household with less than 2 breeding queens.
Agree to support and mentor any new breeder that you sell a breeding queen too. N.B. Probationary breeders should appoint an experienced breeder as a mentor.
Agree to provide the United Kingdom Ragdoll Breeders Society with pedigrees of all breeding cats that you own.
Remember to include in your application:-
· Your completed Membership Form proposed by a current registered breeder or your vet.
· The appropriate fee.
· Your signed code of ethics.
· Copies of the pedigrees of all breeding cats.
· Copies of DNA test certificates.
· Copies of certificates of attendance to Ragdoll seminar.
· Copy of Registration document of your first litter.
